I spend a lot time taking pictures, collecting and editing them.
Also I spend a lot of time searching for public domain images in
public domain archives and making sure that all images you can find on
this site are explicitly placed in the public domain. Please note, not
all images are by me, I collected images from other
sites/photographers which clearly claim that pictures are
explicitly placed in the public domain. Where it was possible the
appropriate accreditation of source/ photographer is given. Use them
for whatever you want, use it freely for personal and commercial use,
images are not copyrighted, no rights reserved. It would be polite to
link back to this site, please support my efforts and help me continue
to publish more images in public domain and make them free and

Can I copyright these images?
No. You can not copyright these images as is, they are already in
public domain. You can use images in your own artistic work.
Can I edit images?
Yes. All wallpaper images are in public domain, and you can do
whatever you like with them. You can use them in your own projects,
you can edit them in any photo editing (or in any other) program. You
can apply any filters on it, you can crop, resize, merge them,
anything you wish. If you do so please let me know, I'll be happy to
publish your work here, or to see it on some other site, even to put
link to that place.
Can I hotlink images from my own site?
You should download photos you would like to use and
then to upload them on your own website, server.
How to download photos and to set it for my desktop
wallpaper?
PC users: To save image on your hard disk, open
photo and right click on the wallpaper and choose "Save image as" to
set wallpaper image as desktop background, right click on the
wallpaper and choose "Set As Wallpaper" or "Set As Background". Mac
users: Save the image to your disk. Go to the control panel, select
appearance, then Desktop tab. Click Place Picture (you may need to
click Remove Picture first if you already have wallpaper). Locate the
public domain image you saved
and click Set Desktop.
Can I have your permission to use one of the photos
here?
If it's public domain, you don't need to ask me
permission. Public domain means I don't have any copyright on the
image, and neither does anyone else.
Where these public domain images come from?
They come from several sources. I took some of
them, and I herby placed them in public domain. Please note, not all
images are by me, I collected images from other sites/photographers
